Iran’s President Apologises to Neighbouring Countries, Says Iran Will Not Attack Unless Provoked

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a public apology to neighbouring countries following recent missile and drone strikes linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
In a televised statement, the president said Iran has no intention of targeting neighbouring nations and will only respond militarily if an attack on Iran originates from their territory.
Pezeshkian explained that Iran’s interim leadership council has approved a new policy instructing the military to suspend attacks on regional countries unless Iran is directly attacked first.
The announcement comes as tensions remain high in the Middle East following escalating clashes involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, raising fears that the conflict could spread across the region.
Iran’s leader emphasized that Tehran holds no hostility toward neighbouring states and wants to prevent the war from expanding beyond the current conflict zones.
